Emirati women & their role in UAE’s digital makeover strategy

The UAE government along with every other government in the world believes a digital transformation policy is essential to strategize. Among the UAE governments’ top economic priorities are artificial intelligence solutions, smart and readily available government services, and state-of-the-art data analytics. Its no doubt that technology led solutions hold the power and potential to heavily impact or transform people’s lives.

The government is clearly committed with the initiatives in place to unlock the digital transformation including Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, the UAE National Innovation Strategy, and the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy. These examples of forward thinking are vital in terms of creating a tech business to help strengthen the country’s digital progress, lend support for startups to lead innovation and create pioneering infrastructure products.

Being in the Emirates, we understand that a key to untap the potential of the digital world is our women, we need our women – Emirati women to play an integral role in building strategies.

Salwa Mohammed, founder of SPL Co. is one such example of strong and committed Emirati women, who believes that female-led startups are vital for every country. She believes her company will play a crucial role in facilitating the UAE’s knowledge economy and unlock the potential for digital transformation.

Technology more than often is viewed as “a man’s world,” but through such examples like SPL Co., that perspective can change by putting Emirati women on the forefronts, especially in the tech industry. The UAE government has already established that space, which has encouraged women to enter and excel in the technology sector, to start their own businesses, and prosper.
